The Art of Pasta

Pasta isn't just for eating anymore! Use clear glass containers to display pasta in a unique way! These glass cylinders and pasta are available almost everywhere, you may already have everything you need at home!

Heavenly Leaf

Captured falling from the sky, this is a leaf in flight. You can frame it or create note cards. Michael's or JoAnn carry pre-cut cards that you can run through your printer (black and white or color) to make beautiful note cards. Click on the photo to enlarge to reproduce for framed art.

Winter Wonderland

I'm really not trying to push winter on you .... but it will be here before you know it. So here's a companion photo to go with the red berries I posted earlier. I have both framed and hanging in my guest bedroom. I purchased the frames with pre-cut double mats at Target.
Simply click on the image to enlarge photo and print.

Easy as ABC

What a fun and easy project. Start out with a favorite quote or saying and start snipping! Cut the letters from magazines to spell out your saying then glue onto a backboard and place in a frame. It makes a clever and personal gift. You can pick up a frame at JoAnn, Michaels, Target or Dollar Stores.

Circle Dome Art

Do you ever see these dome dishes and wonder what the heck you do with them? You can hang them on the wall (concave or convex) or place them on an stand as an art display . The shape,
texture, and form will add interest to your room.
This decorative dish was purchased at Target, one of my favorite stores!

No More Laundry Room Blues

Add some atmosphere to your laundry room with a little art, lighting, even snacks! Make doing laundry a treat instead of a dread. Guests and "buyers" will ooh and aah over the charm and warmth of this delightful room.

Spring to Autumn Arrangement

You can change the seasonal look of an existing floral arrangement by adding colorful flowers. It's as easy as 1 - 2- 3 ! This spring time arrangement looks ready for fall with the addition of brilliant sunflowers. I purchased these sunflowers at Michael's and the original tulip arrangement at Target.

Furnishings Help Sell

This home was new construction with an impeccable interior and stunning appointments. However, when it was empty it left buyers feeling "empty" as well. Once the property was artfully staged, the home connected with the buyer and YES it SOLD!

Lost Your Marbles?

Marbles make a unique and unusual statement as a design element. Place them in a glass vase to allow the color and shape to make a visual impact.
You can select multi-colored marbles or two-three colors to coordinate your room's color scheme.
Marbles are available at dollar and department stores. It's an inexpensive way to get that WoW response!

The Power of Music

Music has the ability to influence our moods and emotions. According to the Annals of Gerneral Psychiatry, Volume 3, studies show that stimulating music actually increases our heart rate and blood pressure, whereas soothing music causes the opposite reaction. Music conveys information and communicates with semantic and emotional elements. Keep this in mind when you are selling your home, the sound of music will have an impact on buyers who view your property.

Free Photo from Rome

Another Roman photo of the Pantheon. This is a companion piece for the other Pantheon photo.
Click on the photo to enlarge and print. Place in a frame and you've got Art!

Free Photo From Rome

Please enjoy this wonderful photo Scott and I took on our vacation to Rome. This is the back of the Pantheon which was built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets in the state of religion of ancient Rome. Please enlarge the photo by clicking on it then print and place it in a frame.

Basement Living Spaces

Valuable living space can be gained by finishing a basement. In this photo, the space is small and narrow, yet it offers a cozy relaxing atmosphere to curl up in or even for entertaining. Note that the ceiling was not finished to allow the space to breath, give interest/texture, and to save money. It was painted light to offer a sense of height to the room.

Defects = Discounts

It's in the details. When you put your home on the market it is important to make every detail as perfect as possible. If you were a buyer looking at this home what condition would you think the home would be in just by looking at the address plate?

Selling Tips

When you are selling your home, always consider the profile of the buyer. For instance, this vintage home was built in the 1920's yet the profile of the buyer is an entry level late 20-30's age bracket. We needed to stage it to appeal to that age range, so we added color, and updated furniture/furnishings to bring this home into this century!

Contemporary Art

Create this contemporary art using corregated cardboard, craft paint, and water color paper. Using a dry brush technique (load paint on your brush then unload it with paper towel) brush paint on - one color over the other. Then glue the corregated board on top of the painted water
color paper. Place in a frame and you're ready for hanging!

Setting the Stage to Sell!

After- what a difference artfully arranged furniture can make!

Staging Vacant Properties

Statistics prove that a staged home sells in half the time and for more money. If your home is on the market and empty, consider renting or even borrowing furniture. The above home was staged before I put it on the market. This is the living room "before" staging. You only get one chance to make a great first impression!

Nancy's Art Creations

I invite you to post your creative ideas like Nancy, above, who displays her beautiful artwork. She simply glued a variety of stones to a corregated cardboard backing and framed them in a dimensional frame available at Michael's or Target stores. As you can see the end result is Stunning! Thanks for sharing with us Nancy!

A Spa Moment

Another idea! Here is a lovely way to display all of your fufu soaps, and lotions. Place them
on a cake plate with a pedistal. It will make your bath look like a luxury spa. This is also a
great idea for a gift.

Free Art Photo

Christmas is just around the corner, so why not get a jump on
homemade gifts. I shot this photo this winter after a ice storm
that left the trees and bushes looking like a winter wonderland.
I purchased a frame at Target with a brushed aluminum finish and a pre-cut mat. You can do the same - just print this photo
and start creating! (click on photo to enlarge)

You Can Do It!

Now is the time to look for colorful leaves to use as art. This picture is simply leaves pressed between the glass of a dollar store frame. It makes a colorful, unique piece of art for your home.

Sticks make great art!

Now that fall is here, take a walk in the woods and look for unique sticks to use as art. You will be amazed at how great a few artful branches will look in a glass vase as a table centerpiece.
